It’s another good year for SDI at BAFTA Scotland as we have once again picked up multiple nominations!
SDI Productions’ Donkeyote by Chico Pereira is nominated in the Feature Film category. The documentary follows Manolo, an adventurous Andalusian retiree as he makes plans to walk across America with his donkey, Gorrión. The film has had a brilliant reception at festivals world-wide, winning the Best Documentary award at Edinburgh International Film Festival this year amongst others, and we are delighted for its nomination.
Yulia Kovanova’s Plastic Man, about an artist whose acts of environmental destruction make us consider our own acts of violence against nature, has been nominated for Best Short Film. Plastic Man was one of this year’s Bridging the Gap films, developed in response to the theme REBELLION.
This is the second year in a row SDI have gained two BAFTA Scotland nominations and the third in which we’ve been nominated for Best Short, winning in 2015 with Callum Rice’s Mining Poems or Odes.
The full list of nominations can be found HERE.
We wish all nominees the best of luck and are looking forward to the ceremony in Glasgow on Sunday 5th November.
