With just days to go until Sheffield DocFest begins we are pleased to share the Scottish talent showcasing at this year’s festival.
We are proud to have a strong Scottish representation as part of our Delegation initiative and two former Edinburgh Pitch projects screening at the festival. Hot on the heels of another annual Edinburgh Pitch, the screenings of This Is National Wake and Electric Malady should inspire our current documentary filmmakers!
This is National Wake follows the rise and fall of punk band, National Wake, complied with their archive footage at the height of apartheid in South Africa.
Electric Malady tells the story of isolation told by William, who suffers from a rare and unrecognised condition that causes an extreme sensitivity to electromagnetic fields.
We are also cheering on SDI alumni Sonja Henrici’s production ‘The Oil Machine‘, directed by Emma Davie, having its premiere at the festival. The Oil Machine explores the conflict around highly coveted North Sea Oil and the global drama over ownership.
