The Edinburgh Pitch is an international documentary pitching forum for independent filmmakers and productions companies developing and raising finance for urgent, challenging, engaging authored feature films.

In a supportive lab-like environment, twelve selected projects will be invited to take part in a preparatory workshop before pitching to an industry panel and engaging in one-to-one meetings the next day.

Representatives from previous editions include CONIC, DAE, Documentary Alliance Films, Doc Society, In-Docs, MUBI, Netflix, POV/America-Reframed, Screen Scotland, SVT, Taskovski Films and Visions du Réel.

In addition to invaluable networking, development and pitching opportunities, the Edinburgh Pitch offers cash prizes to the best pitch: Audience Award  (£3,000) and Panellist Award (£2,000).

Previous successes of the Edinburgh Pitch include Oscar-nominated The Cave (2020), Locarno Semaine de la Critique winner A Thousand Fires (2021) and Much Ado About Dying (2022) which had its international premiere at IDFA 2022.
