Michel Wenzer: My Process (2012)

Duration: 22:27

Michael Wenzer | Masterclass | 2012

Michel Wenzer is a Swedish sound designer and filmmaker. His latest work At Night I Fly (2011) won the Swedish Film Award (Guldbagge Award) for Best Documentary, and the Tempo Documentary Award for Best Swedish Doc 2012.

Telling us about this powerful and unconventional documentary, Michel Wenzer’s masterclass discusses the challenges when filming in a maximum security prison and the importance of soundscape and sound design in filmmaking; the importance of strong protagonists, the importance of making a character out of a subject, and how he gained access into the prison.
