CIELO, Alison’s first, and very successful feature documentary premiered at the 55th New York Film Festival 2017, and subsequently screened at several international A-list festivals such as Karlovy Vary IFF, Hot Docs as well as over 50 cinemas across North America including Film Forum, New York; TIFF Bell Lightbox; Ahrya Fine Arts by Laemle, LA; Cinema du Parc and Cinema Beaubien, Montreal (and over 100 screenings worldwide). Alison comes from a background in poetry, having written highly visual poetic monologues, and her approach to filmmaking is rooted in many different forms of visual arts. In this Masterclass, Alison will give us an insight into the process of making Cielo, including her goals and aspirations as a filmmaker, while revealing her journeys and adventures to keep fresh and poetic the ephemeral experience which led her to make this film.
