5 years ago, filmmaker/artist Andy Taylor Smith shot a series of portraits of WWII re-enactors. Intrigued by the characters’ dedication to their pasttime, Andy took the opportunity of his SDI’s Bridging the Gap commission to don some fatigues and take a more intimate look into their world.
It’s Christmas Day. The setting – an underground bunker in an unidentified location in Europe. Two GIs’ search for solace turns to reflection about their identity and relationships.
