Jimmy (2011)

Duration: 12:16    Category: Short, Society   Opportunity: Bridging the Gap

Jimmy McIntosh, MBE, campaigns daily for disabled rights. Nothing can stop him, especially not his own Cerebral Palsy. A day in the life of Jimmy McIntosh, seen from his point of view.

We see Jimmy as he navigates support groups and charity foundations that he works for. The never resting bustle of his life and the passionate adoption of modern technology to execute his campaigns. Never a day goes by without Jimmy setting out from his home and using the city’s network of buses as his transport setting about his daily mission – a mandate to fight for the rights of the disabled and marginalised, via emails to politicians, phones calls via his bluetooth headset, meetings, talks, openings and hustings. The film paints a picture of a man who lives a full and dynamic life, a man who disregards the limits of his body and age, campaigning selflessly for others despite daily challenges.
