NAVALNY follows Russia’s former opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, in the wake of his August 2020 Novichok poisoning as he aggressively works to uncover who was behind his assassination attempt in this gripping documentary thriller.

DANIEL ROHER | Director

Daniel Roher’s films have taken him to every corner of the globe. His feature documentary debut, Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band was the opening night film at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. His follow-up, NAVALNY, had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. The film has earned Oscar and BAFTA nominations for Best Documentary Feature, a PGA nomination for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Pictures, and Roher has been nominated by the DGA for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentary. The film has won the following: Critics Choice Award for Best Political Documentary; Cinema Eye Honors Award Audience Choice; and Sundance Film Festival Awards for Festival Favorite and Audience Award: U.S. Documentary.
