Final Selections! Bridging the Gap: Shift

20th December 2010 / News

After 3 highly intense workshops and some really hard work, it was a tough choice to pick the 6 final projects that will explore this year’s theme of Shift.

We are pleased to announce the selected filmmakers who will have a very industrious Christmas break:

David Cairns – The Suicide Gap
Ruth Reid – The Night Shift
Paul Ryan –
Battle of the Squirrels
Martin Smith – Jimmy
Andy Taylor Smith –
I Can Smell the Cordite
Tali Yankelevich – The Perfect Fit

But Bridging the Gap is also about masterclasses and we are expecting some talented and acclaimed filmmakers to make a stop in Edinburgh in 2011 (dates& speakers TBC, check regularly the Events page)

Consistently picking up awards, BAFTA’s, special mentions and festival screenings in over 40 countries worldwide, Bridging the Gap is one of the leading documentary new talent initiatives for cinema in the UK. It offers an intense creative training programme alongside production and the chance for a transmission on BBC Scotland. This year the six short documentaries have been allocated a budget of up to £16K each (8K cash, 8K in-kind).
