The call for projects for the 2018 Pitch is NOW OPEN!
Entering its 12th year and running alongside the Edinburgh International Film Festival, The Edinburgh Pitch is the only international documentary pitching forum in Scotland. It is aimed at independent filmmakers and companies developing and raising finance for creative feature documentaries and considering international co-productions. The call will close on Monday 2 April.
The initiative focuses on connecting, not competing; on passion, not pressure. In a lab-like environment, 12 carefully selected participants will take part in a one-day preparatory workshop (18 June) before making a formal public pitch in front of an industry panel (19 June) , followed by one-to-one meetings with decision makers the next day.
The international panel consists of commissioning editors, funding bodies, sales agents, distributors, festival programmers, producers, all curious to see how you are going to surprise and inspire them.

We’d also like to congratulate the team behind Last Men in Aleppo, one of the projects presented at The Edinburgh Pitch in 2016, on their Oscar nomination for Best Feature Documentary this year! Last year John Van Wyck, Creative Executive at Cinereach and 2016 panellist, spoke to us about discovering Last Men in Aleppo, the pitching process and what makes The Edinburgh Pitch so special.
