Alan Berliner | Masterclass | 2013

Alan Berliner is an independent American artist and filmmaker, whose films have been aired on the Public Broadcasting Service program P.O.V. and screened at film festivals worldwide. He is known for Wide Awake (2006), First Cousin Once Removed (2011), Nobody’s Business (1996), and Intimate Stranger (1991).

Alan Berliner tells us about how to start a film, how to deal with bad ideas, how to deal with the best interviews; he discusses the personal vs. traditional, and gives valuable editing advice. Berliner gives tips to the young filmmaker, and emphasises the importance of turning fear into fuel.
