Duration: 51:22

The Black Veil was the first out of three films to be broadcast on BBC Scotland part of Scottish Documentary Institute’s second season of the Right Here intitiative.

The Black Veil is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Watch our conversation with Director Ling Lee, Bradley, and Sister Alaska Lott about the making of the film.

The Black Veil follows Bradley, (they/ them), who is gender fluid and they identify as non-binary. In this short film, they are preparing to marry their life partner, Emma, and attain the highest order, ‘The Black Veil’, in a group called The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are a charity, protest and street performance group set up to challenge the stigmas of sexual intolerance.
